The House Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet and Intellectual Property passed the Performance Rights Act today. Up for consideration is terrestrial radio's exemption from paying performance royalties for the use of sound recordings.

I said in a past post that the MMA (Mixed martial arts) bill had passed the senate it has not. I thought when an amendment was added after it passed the house it was to conform to the passed senate version. It was added to change the date but it did not pass the senate yet. The big hold up is an amendment to give surplus funds created by MMA to D1 college wrestling programs.

It was a notice that 25 Attorneys General across the country, in a bi-partisan effort, had signed a letter urging the leadership of the US House to bring the FISA bill to a vote in the House. The GOP blocks the senate version of the stimulus package and then turn around and say that the dems are to blame. Lovely game the GOP likes to play.

Republicans, though, said they were ready to accept rebates for seniors and disabled veterans and accused Democrats of delaying the stimulus plan for political gain and loading it down
