I was driving past the rundown old fairgrounds today and started thinking about the news story that aired a couple day ago, in which ideas were being solicited for new uses for it when it hit me; why not use the fairgrounds for a huge, one-stop, complete and onsite homeless service center and camp ground!?!

I found a new site over the weekend. . . PBS has a series called "Art:21 - Art in the Twenty-First Centurty" They have a great website full of interviews, slideshows and clips and they even have a Blog!

The Knoxville Museum of Art offers a big exhibition of small works with its Size Matters: XS – Recent Small-Scale Paintings from March 28 – August 24, 2008.

The exhibition includes 42 works by some of America’s most important painters including Thordis Adalsteinsdottir, Justin Allen, and Francis Alÿs.

The UT Ewing Gallery '2008 Artist-In-Residence Biennial' ends this Sunday, Feburary 10, 2008. On view are the current works ofJessica Dickinson, Wallace Whitney, Jeff Gauntt, and Munro Galloway. These New York City-based painters have each served as resident artists with the UT School of Art since Fall, 2006.
