douchebag

I’m not really sure what to say about McCain’s speech … his job was to sound like really just a decent guy and gosh he loves his country, to convince us that he’s really not a douchebag like all those other Republicans … and I suppose, superficially, in the during, he almost pulled it off.

First and foremost, I here and now claim first bloggal use of the term “NILF”

Watching the freak show that is the Republican. National Convention. And like the freak show that is the Democratic National Convention, it’s a two-hour study in the sorry state that political discourse has fallen into.

Picture it. Hermitage. Last night. Joe and I were craving some pizza, so we called in an order to a local pizza place and headed there to pick up our pie (mushroom and pineapple; he's a veggie). We were in there waiting when another customer came in and ordered a pizza with all sorts of weird special toppings. The nice gal at the register rang him up and he paid with a credit card.

Bringing the new boyfriend home to meet parents and extended family tomorrow. Nervous. Hope he has fun. Gah. Hope the naked baby pics stay locked away.

I haven't had much to say lately. What a loser I am.

So that douchebag that dumped me a few weeks back decided to start texting again, trying to be "friends" and "see what happens". I ignored him for four days, but when he started emailing wanting to get together and "see what happens", I knew it was time to act. He had dumped the girl he dumped me for. Wow. Impressive.

Before last night, if I was going to make a list of my all time least favorite musicians, John Mayer definitely would have made the top five... probably third, after Kenny G and Barbra Streisand. Sure the guy's song are terrible, and despite being a massive tool, he seems to bag every hottie in Hollywood as if he were checking them off a list.

I read an article on the "political shrewdness" of Pope Benedict not going to Boston on his US trip next week and I am convinced that the writer is more concerned with US Catholicism looking good than with genuine faith, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Our featured douchebag this week is Philip F. Lawler.

I guess my numerous bad dates would make a funny movie. I'd call it, "How to Repel a Guy in Less Than One Hour". Or, "Weirdo Attraction". "Bottom of the Barrel: Scraped Clean". These are just working titles, mind you.
