freezer

You know, it's always the unexpected things that bite you in the behind. For the last month or so, the freezer in our refrigerator has been incrementally not freezing things, to the point where it wasn't making ice or freezing stuff in the door. This was in addition to our dryer spitting oil and/or grease all over our clothes, necessitating weekly trips to the laundromat.

Every once in a while, you get that storm of similar events that make you wonder if the universe is trying to send you a message or teach you a universal truth.

I repeat it every year (or, at least, I repeated it last year after I heard it the year before that), so I must repeat it again. It's a short story, but guaranteed to make you laugh.

I invited Katie over to bake some cookies while Mom and I sort of hung out.

That’s neither here nor there.  What did I do today, you ask?  Oh, I got my oil changed, went to the grocery store, bought a hammer, bought a rubber mallet, and FINISHED UP MY COMPOST PILE!

In the beginning, it sounded like a simple thing. It was. Simply not right.

High on NaBloPoMo, I had about twelve different things I wanted to post about yesterday. I thought, though, that I'd just wait and spread them out so I'd make sure to make my one-post-a-day quota.
