We have reached the downward spiral of counting down the top 10 singers to listen to in the folk/bluegrass/country genre. (These are in no certain order except who I think to put on the list). Artist number 4 is Nanci Griffith.

Weakley County Democrat pens an open letter to Senators Corker and Alexander:

It’s steamy. And it’s sitting at the steps of the House. I can see some of the House Reps cracking their office doors and looking out at the log. They can smell it. Due to its massive size, they are amazed that the Senate was able to force it out of their collective legislative anus.

Newscoma attends a Democratic meeting out in West Tennessee and comes away with a bad feeling after listening to the words of a usually optimistic politician:

This weekend was one of those to go down on record as “Of the Suck” for sooo many people I know. Let me count the ways.

Ran across this post on one of the other political messageboards I frequent. It makes some pretty salient points for us progressives. It's time for us to stop letting the GOP put us on the defensive. The failed policies of the Bush administration and the neo-conservatives need to rest solely on their shoulders.

I think I've figured out part of my problem.

Short of the first aid after last week's window debacle, I have not touched another human being in weeks.  Thinking about that fact, I find it incredible for me.  I am a handsy person by nature.  I touch people when I talk, and am not afraid of affectionate gestures, even with those I know only slightly.
