In these days of news reports on police who are caught selling drugs or violating civil rights, it’s good to hear that there are still people out there doing their job the way it should be done.

I was hoping for a photo and maybe an interview with Randy Owen in Sat's Sentinel about the benefit he did on Friday for the UU Church. WBIR ran a nice interview with him I didn't see. While the Sentinel has done good reporting on the tragedy, they slipped on this benefit.

 The Obama campaign is the first to use a long-form infomercial during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Reseach, made his late night debut on Showtime's "Penn and Teller's: Bull[bleep]."

Ya’ll, I just blogged a couple of days ago about how beautiful our sunflowers are, and how wonderful it’s been for my photography as well as for the boys to see how a rather large plant grows from a rather large seed.

Last night the Salemtown e-mail list lit up with word of a BB gun fired through the window of a townhouse, a late-night disturbance involving a group of unruly teenage girls near Morgan Park, a suspicious white van containing some of those teens shouting racial insults around 6th and Buchanan, and kids throwing rocks at windows and kicking front doors on 5th.

This would be better with a photograph. Alas, I didn't even try to get a shot of it. Soon, I need to get serious about improving my night photography skills.
