Si, you heard it here. Not only is Fidel not dead, but according to a recent speech by Raoul, he’s not either. His speech was most notable for the “Fidel es Fidel” part where Raoul squashed what vestige of hope for change might remain in the impoverished island. It just doesn’t get much more definitive than that when it comes to Cuba. “Fidel is Fidel.” Wow. That says it all.

Just in case you’re not listening to the news, a full lifetime of effort by every president since Kennedy (and maybe Eisenhower, I’m too lazy to go look)continues to accomplish nothing. He’ll probably die of old age at 128. I have heard some news outlets discussing how Raoul might be nicer and a bit more liberal in what he allows. The news media said nice things about Fidel before they discovered he was really a Commie under that beard, so I wouldn’t expect much from
