After my family and I got home from church Wednesday night, we flipped on the TV and watched the Republican National Convention (RNC). I missed Huckabee’s speech, and part of Giuliani’s speech, but that was ok. I wanted to hear Governor Sarah Palin, the VP nominee and Republican governor of Alaska.

Like most bloggers, I enjoy the sound of my own voice and enjoy reading my own opinions. If I didn’t, I suppose I wouldn’t have any business blogging. I believe I have something relevant to say and that I say it well. That so many of you come by to read each day tends to reinforce that belief.

VP nominee Gov. Sarah Palin was fabulous last night. The women of the Brooks' household were so excited to see this strong woman, mom and wife. I was so thankful my children got to see what was possible.

Don't you think good leadership qualities include slow and careful consideration of an important decision?

For 6 months now the GOP has been hemming and hawing about how unqualified Barack Obama is, how he gives a good speech but there is no substance behind him, how he’s untested and unready.

Mark Halperin, the consumate self-promoter, thinks he's nailed why the media is being so "tough" on Gov. Sarah Palin.

They're liberal, sexist, and don't like to be surprised.

OK, but he forgot one key reason...HYPOCRISY.

How ironic that the GOP spent its first whipping post party reinforcing "Country First," when their presumptive VP nominee, Sarah Palin has some checkered affinities with an Alaskan separatist organization trying to gain independence for "The Land of the Midnight Sun":
