talent show

I really liked the summer replacement show 'America's Got Talent' last year. It reminded me of the old time variety shows. Occasionally, they threw in some freakish acts they knew couldn't win for laughs, but it was more about finding talent last season than it was last night.

Neither the Butcher nor I can bring ourselves to watch the end of the “Teenage Love Affair” video by Alicia Keys.  Does the dude show up for the talent show or not?

Also, does that Cold Play song ever stop sucking?  And why do I have to look at dude’s teeth?

my week looks like this.. after a trip to the office & then to baptist hospital to see some of our youth leaders and their new twins. we will be off have a little meet up with our bishop & cabinet, conference staff people, and personnel committee.

Late last night, before hitting the hay, I took a brief glance at my RSS feed that spits out the latest stuff off the wire services and was dismayed to see no less than three separate stories concerning the show "American Idol." Apparently, this glorified talent show is important news - so much so that anything associated with it now ends up repeatedly on local newscasts...

"American Idol" has a split personality. I have heard parents talk about how the Hollywood portion of the annual talent show is one of the few things that the whole family sits down and watches together, something that's a rarity in today's society...
