SPRING HILL — The city’s first ever full-scale fireworks show is scheduled for the night of July 4th at The Crossings of Spring Hill.

Though the sale and ignition of fireworks in the city limits is banned, the law will be lifted between noon-11 p.m. Friday to allow residents to celebrate the national holiday, Fire Chief Jim Swindle said.

The city of Nashville is tightening its belt even further, and you won't be seeing as many Metro vehicles around town.

Monday, Mayor Karl Dean cut the city's fleet of cars and trucks by 10-percent, or 400 vehicles. It's all about saving money - mostly on fuel.
