It appears that tempers hit their boiling point over the weekend as council members and constituents staged e-mail offensives in the wake of last week's announcement of Charlie Tygard's LED task force interest group.

Here is CM Tygard's salvo from last Friday at Anna Page for expressing disapproval of his LED bill on the District 16 listserv:

Once again in a public meeting opponents of Charlie Tygard's LED bill outnumbered proponents, although at today's Planning Commission meeting two churches (rather than just one) brought supporters of the bill.

Yesterday, I e-mailed Rick Bernhardt at Planning asking about allegations that the consent agenda placement of Charlie Tygard's LED bill was used at the Planning Commission to keep the bill from reaching public hearing. Here is his quick response to me:
