You know how the old saying goes, opinions are like...everyone's got one. Well, this concept was on full display in the Tennessean, as they consulted various Tennessee Democrats for their advice to Obama on how he might win.

Well, Eric Stansell already had an uphill battle against Mike Stewart's large financial advantage, now it appears that Stewart has an important constituency (especially in a low-turnout Democratic primary) in his pocket. Both the Communication Workers of America and the Education Association PAC have endorsed the Waller Lansden attorney.

With the latest campaign financial reports comes news that Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis is trying to buy an election. (I know, I know, we’re supposed to be moving on to a new topic here at Pith, but I just can’t stop myself.)

The Tennessee Republican Party is attacking Michelle Obama? Really?

John Fund had a piece out a few days ago that we talked about on the radio and I wanted to get it up on the blog. The article regards the special election for the Congressional seat previously held by Dennis Hastert (R).

If “losing Hastert’s seat is like the toppling of the Saddam statue in Baghdad,” then it looks like the win for newcomer Democrat Bill Foster to Illinois’ 4th congressional district is the heroes’ welcome for Democrats looking to change current management of important issues– the war in Iraq, the economy, and congressional ethics among many other things.
