hot sun

Today was one of those days you say to yourself: “Self? How long can you stand outside in the hot sun while smelling exotic animals?” Well the answer is a resounding more than 5 hours!

I draped my comforters over the back porch to dry in the hot sun.  I’m only sad I don’t have a clothes line so that I can hang my sheets, too.

Which, of course, has me thinking about the whole housing situation, which makes me a little sad.  Am I being too picky?  Too poor?  Ha.  Well, what can you do?

I waited 4 hours at an Apple store to buy what I thought was one iPhone, when hey what the heck, get two new ones... And pay it forward on the old iPhone.

Easy, breezy and beautiful is probably the least original, but most effective way to describe my first six hours at Bonnaroo so far. There was no traffic on the drive down, no hassles checking in for press credentials and assembling my tent under the scorching hot sun was at least 1/10th the hassle I expected.

Ok, there are an infinite number of ways…place a bag of Oreos or a carton of Ben & Jerrys on it, have one or more dark skinned, muscular spanish-speaking men sit there first, or, do it my way:

Today is my mother’s birthday, and she is thirty years and three months older than I.   Most of what I know of her I know through my own experience–because that’s how it works with mothers and daughters at first.
