That’s a headline you never want to see. Unemployment has hit a 5-year high of 6.1% and total jobs lost this year, 605,000.

Unemployment in Morristown hit a 10-year high at 13%, the highest rate since Jan. 1998, and other metropolitan and county communities likewise saw the summer bring on high rates, according to a report in the Kingsport Times-News:

Now, if folks holding degrees are facing a limited and highly competitive job market, imagine the difficulties faced by those who haven't even finished high school.

Compound that with the fact that they have no phone to receive interview requests, no place to shower if they do have an interview to attend, no suitable clothes

It's tough as hell for folks to find even the lousiest of jobs here in Nashville at the moment; doesn't look like it'll get much better anytime soon, either....
